Fluorosurfactants for coatings and cleaning

Compare non-ionic and anionic fluorosurfactants by solids, pH and listed uses in floor finishes, coatings, inks and cleaning.

VN-FL-1015 and VN-FL-1016 list low-foam wetting and leveling for floor finishes, cleaning solutions, paints and inks. Their typical data list non-ionic type, but the solid contents differ: 25% and 100%, respectively.

VN-FL-1018 is also listed as non-ionic, with 100% solids and compatibility with hydrocarbon surfactants. VN-FL-1020 is listed as anionic, with 15% solids, for water-based floor finishes, architectural coatings and metal cleaning.

What to check when selecting

  • Check ionic type against the other surfactants and ingredients in the complete formulation.
  • Use the listed solids and pH to compare supplied products; equal addition percentages do not imply equal solids addition.
  • VN-FL-1015 and VN-FL-1016 list 0.1–0.2% dosage guidance with trial optimization. Do not extend that range to other models without confirmation.

Selection questions

Are VN-FL-1015 and VN-FL-1016 the same concentration?

Their typical tables list different solid contents: 25% for VN-FL-1015 and 100% for VN-FL-1016. Compare the full specification and test the formulation when changing models.

Which selected model is anionic?

VN-FL-1020 is listed as anionic. Its typical data give 15% solids and pH 7–9; review the product page for the complete data.
